Transitioning to the Next Generation - DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire Center for Family Business will discuss how family businesses transition from an older to a younger generation of owners at its next event Wednesday, May 14, 2008.


Even "angel" investors, the wealthy individuals who give seed money to entrepreneurs, have grown more cautious. After several years of 10% annual growth, angel investments rose only 1.8% to $26 billion in 2007 from the year before, says Jeffrey Sohl, director of the University of New Hampshire's Center for Venture Research.


Each year, UNH faculty and staff at both campuses are given the opportunity to recognize outstanding full-time students enrolled in a degree program. Meet two WSBE students who are 2008 UNH Student Award RecipientsJessica Compton WSBE/COLA '08, University Women's Award and Brad Flaishans WSBE '08, University Award of Excellence.


John, Robert and Gerald Dunfey to receive the University of New Hampshire 2008 Hoteliers of the Year Award at the Gourmet Dinner on Saturday, April 19th.  Tickets available in the MUB Ticket Office.


Congratulations to Kaylyn Lambert and Nancy Henry, recipients of the New Hampshire Society of Certified Public Accountants' merit-based scholarship. Residents from all across New Hampshire compete for this prestigious award.


Three Winning teams - Energy Portfolio Systems (EPS), Glycura™, and Novel Superabsorbent from Renewable Resource - now move forward to compete for the top prize in the 20th Annual Holloway Championship Challenge Competition to be held May 14th at UNH. Finalist teams will present their work to a Panel of Judges comprised of representatives from business and industry.


Whittemore School Holloway Competition - The 20th Annual Paul J. Holloway Prize University-wide Innovation-to-Market Competition takes students out of the classroom and into the real world.  Now celebrating two decades of excellence in new venture creation and entrepreneurship, the competition challenges students to develop interdisciplinary innovations and present their plans to bring them to market.
