Joe received his BA from Columbia University in Economics and then continued his education at Cornell's Hotel School where he earned a BS, MPS, and Ph.D. He taught at Cornell for six years, then at New York University for six years where he founded their Hotel Management program. In 1986 he joined the faculty of the Hospitality Management program in the Whittemore School at the University of New Hampshire. Joe currently teaches Beverage Management and Meetings, Conventions, and Events Management classes. He has served as chair of the department for three terms.
