Meet Kelly Murphy
Kelly is currently enrolled in the MS Accounting Program. She graduated Magnum Cum Laude from The Whittemore School of Business and Economics in 2008 with an undergraduate degree in Accounting. She enjoyed her experience so much that she opted to immediately enroll in the Master's Program. Her primary factors for selecting UNH were the professors and the class schedule which works well for her as a commuter.
Now that she is in the midst of the program she feels lucky to have such a wealth of great professors. Emily Xu is one of her favorites, because her passion for accounting translates well into the classroom environment. Professor Colliander, another favorite, teaches law, ethics and tax and provides a really unique, real world prospective as he is a practicing lawyer in New Hampshire.
In the little spare time her studies leave her she enjoys reading - her current book of choice is The Informant. In addition to reading she enjoys watching any ABC programming, her favorites are; Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and Brothers & Sisters. She is also currently volunteering with her classmates for a non-profit organization, NHSPCA where they are helping to implement a cost-accounting program.
Upon graduation she will be working for the Boston office of Ernst & Young, having accepted a position after her internship last summer. This May she will begin her preparation for the CPA exam, with the hopes to pass by Thanksgiving. She is very excited to be moving to Boston and is anxiously looking forward to bringing the wealth of academic knowledge gained at WSBE to her professional career!
