Graduate Admissions
If you are thinking about applying to begin the MBA program this fall, now is the time to prepare and take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). The best way to learn more is to visit the official GMAT website, http://www.mba.com/, and click on "Prepare for the GMAT Exam". Here you will find links to test prep software, the official GMAT study guide, and tips on how to prepare.
The Admissions Committee utilizes the GMAT because it has been shown to correlate with success in the first year of the MBA program. It also provides data that allows the committee to compare applicants applying with varied academic backgrounds. Last year's entering MBA class had an average GMAT score of 560.
If you already have a master's degree, or have taken and done well on a different graduate admissions test, contact the rebecca [dot] barbour [at] unh [dot] edu (Admissions Counselor) to learn more about requesting a GMAT waiver.
What we are reading...
Currently, in my MBA Managerial Decision Making class I am reading Winning Decisions: Getting It Right the First Time by J. Edward Russo and Paul J.H. Schoemaker. The book presents ways for work teams to be successful, such as how to evaluate problems from different perspectives to produce the best possible outcome for your organization. The authors also introduce various decision making techniques. The focus of this class is to learn how to evaluate information to make good decisions, and Winning Decisions presents useful advice that I know will help me in the future. Melissa Full-time MBA ‘09
